Note It - Celebrate Release
Simon Says Stamp has a brand new release! Celebrate is available now for shopping, and has a really good mix of product! It includes lots of later spring occasions - teacher appreciation, graduation, Mother’s and Father’s Days, some good birthday products, and lots of other fun things… like tacos! Be sure to take a look.
This card - and the next couple of posts - feature the Just a Note Notes stamp set, which is a Simon Says Stamp and CZ Design collaboration. (Those are some of my favorites!)
When I get a new product, especially when a company sends me one for a new release, I always like to see what ideas I can come up with that push the envelope (ha…) or go beyond the straightforward and obvious. As I read the messages on this set, and considered the shapes and ideas, I thought of the notes of kindness and encouragement that people sometimes leave each other. Sometimes for a loved one around the house, or a child on their school books or in their lunchbox, or for colleagues at work. I’ve seen images of groups doing it on school lockers to share positivity, or random places out and about for strangers to find. The best part - beyond the heartwarming goals of those acts - is that these messages are the perfect size for Post-it notes!
I chose to use cardstock, not actual Post-Its, but I made them the same 3” x 3” size. I chose a rainbow of colors, and picked a series of messages that work well together.
It is a really simple card - all messages are stamped in black on the colored cardstock. Sometimes the idea and execution doesn’t need to be complex. I did create a 3 panel accordion fold card for a little more surface area, that still can be displayed in a way that is viewable all at once.
I chose the Kraft background for the subtle bulletin board reference (great way to share notes before they were self- adhering, and it also grounds all the bright note colors. I did add a background stamp with Versamark ink in the background for a little bit of interest. When I attached the notes, I bent them just a bit and glued them only on the top edge, so they’d stick off just a bit like Post-It notes do. The last panel includes space to sign and write a note.
Thank you for visiting! I hope you get some time to create something soon.
