STAMPtember: card 3

I hope you followed along with the STAMPtember party! If you missed it, go look at the Simon Says Stamp blog now. It is never too late for the inspiration part of the party, and they have fun things planned all month long.

I had fun thinking of different unique ways to use this stamp set, so here is another card using the “Trick or Treat” stamp set from the new STAMPtember release.

Before anything else, I did some mixed media work for a background. I used a couple of brands of shimmer/metallic sprays and when it dried, I used Glow Grit Paste through a stencil, and once that dried I added some ink around the edges.

For the little tombstones, I stamped images and greetings onto some light gray cardstock in two colors (slightly offset to give the illusion of dimension). I cut those out using an arch die to create little tombstone shapes. A little bit of ink blending around the edge adds to that illusion of dimension.

A strip of black cardstock cut with a wavy edge die creates a dark hillside for the tombstones.

The extra fun touch is that when it is dark, the stars in the background glow! Have you tried that Glow Grit Paste yet? If not, I highly recommend it!
