Mod Plants

Time for a new release from Simon Says Stamp!

The new release from Simon Says Stamp is HERE! Introducing the RAIN OR SHINE release! This release includes a lot of fun for spring and beyond, in a range of styles.

This post will focus on cards that feature the Mod Plants stamp and die bundle. These stamps have some great bold organic shapes.

Techniques:

  • I started out with my color palette: Nectar, Clementine, Poppy Oceanside, and Peacock.

  • The background panel is the darkest teal (Peacock) and the layer on top of that is the brighter teal (Oceanside) that I ran though the embossing folder. After embossing, I added some ink around the outer area which adds depth, highlights the embossed dimension, and helps ground things.

  • I chose one of the flowers and stamped it using two colors on Nectar cardstock. I then chose the darkest and deeper of the colors I used in the flower stamping to cut a strip for the sentiment. (That’s just stamped on in black.)

  • I added a couple of die cut layers behind the flower that I cut out of black. After gluing those behind the stamped one, it adds an enhanced shadow effect.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th Poppy, Nectar, Oceanside, Peacock.

  • ink: Concord & 9th Poppy, Clementine, Oceanside.
