Handsome Bunny - not only for Easter
March 2025 Release from Gina K Designs
Time for a new release from Gina! Once again, I’m excited to be a guest designer for the Gina K Designs release! These cards feature the new Hopping Good Day stamp and die bundle.
To see the whole new release, take a look at this link here (at Simon Says Stamp) or here (at Gina K Designs).
Techniques:
I stamped this big beautiful bunny in light gray ink, and added just a touch of marker coloring to add some interest and depth.
To create the background, I stamped some of the circle stamp in Lilac ink on Lilac cardstock. This adds some pattern and movement in the background that will look good even if the card is standing up on display and the shaker bits are all at the bottom of the card.
After attaching that Lilac panel to a card base, I used foam Shaker Strips along the full edge of the card to create a frame to hold the shaker bits in. I added the shaker bits in a mix of sequins. I also added a few stamped and die cut party hats (from the stamp set) for some extra festive fun, and some size variation. After that was all in, I carefully peeled off the top of the shaker strips and added a frame I cut out of deep purple Eggplant cardstock.
With the party hats inside the shaker, I realized the bunny needed one also, so I added that on.
The greeting is stamped, white embossed, and die cut from Eggplant cardstock that matches the frame.
I added the bunny coming into the card front at an angle. It is a more dynamic pose than just centering him like I was going to. It also creates a strong sense of flow from the greeting to the bunny because they are placed in close proximity to each other.
Colors:
cardstock: Concord & 9th Powder, Lilac, Eggplant. White

Techniques:
This is effectively a trip-fold card, with three panels. I created each of them separately though, because I wanted each to be done with different colored cardstock.
I planned it so you get a peek of all three layers from the front, yet you get more of each as you open it up.
The front features a die cut window that allows the view in to the other layers. I used the flower stamps in the stamp set to create a pattern that is bolder toward the bottom, and lighter higher up. This gives it visual weight that grounds it, and creates some visual interest to lead your eye.
The middle layer features the bunny, stamped and partially die cut to leave an anchor and fold. (I realized as I competed it that it might have been nicer if I’d just stamped and die cut the bunny, and placed it on a flap of the kraft color cardstock, but I actually like the layers and colorblock feel that that bit of white adds.)
The inside panel is on kraft cardstock, and features some of the flower stamps from the front, but more spaced out and embossed in white. I left an open area for writing a message toward the bottom that will be hidden by the bunny flap until it is opened.
Colors:
cardstock: Concord & 9th Honeycomb, Wheat
ink: Concord & 9th Sunflower, Buttercup, Honeycomb.
