Using Lots of Little Stamps
I’m sharing cards throughout the month made with some of the STAMPtember products. Many other talented designers are doing the same! This is going to be a fun month filled with ideas and inspiration!
This card uses many little stamps - and I include some design tips in the techniques!
This card features the new Pumpkin Spice Vibes Clear Stamp Set. (See link below in the visual supply list.) This stamp set has a lot of cute little images. I knew I could build a little scene and use some of them, but I wanted to use more. A cute color blocked grid is a perfect solution.
Techniques:
The grid uses a mix of colored cardstock and ink blended spaces.
Most of the images are stamped with Versamark embossing ink and embossed with white. I was originally going to stamp some in color, but realized the design was more cohesive with the images in white on the solid or blended colors. That also provides the visual repetition with all the white lines of the images and the grid. (That’s one of those design principles I’ve been mentioning.) You’ll notice that the acorns in the top right are still in the colored stamping. I forgot to goo back and redo that one, but because it is so small and in that corner, it doesn’t distract too much.
I chose the placement for the colored cardstock and blended spaces to provide a visual pathway through the card. That’s the kind of thing you may not notice, but it creates a good flow, which is another principle that helps the layout work.
You’ll also notice that I put the two greetings on two of the more bold cardstock colors. That provides the contrast needed to help them stand out among the many squares. (It doesn’t matter that they are small and not in the center. The brightness of those two cardstock colors and that contrast helps them not get lost.)
Colors:
cardstock: Concord & 9th: Dragonfruit, Watermelon, Grapefruit, and Clementine. Hammermill white
ink: Concord & 9th: Dragonfruit, Sweet Pea, Watermelon, Grapefruit, and Clementine.
