Spooky Cute Ghosts

Last fall I bought the cute Tiny Box Add-On Ghost die from Lawn Fawn, but I didn’t actually get around to using it. I pulled it out recently and made some cards with the cute ghost.

I have a big question though: Do you like it with or without the arms? I tried a card each way…

I started with using just the basic die for the ghost. It reminds me so much of the ghosts in Pac-Man, and I wanted it to be the focal point of the card.

Techniques:

  • The card base has a Lilac cardstock (Concord & 9th) cut with a cloud die to add just a little bit of texture.

  • On top of the clouds and a Mushroom strip I placed above it, I applied some Royal Flush solar paste through a star stencil. I added some die cut stars in Lemongrass and Grape Soda, which are also the colors I used for the thin strips I added across the background.

  • I added an arched die-cut panel to be the base for the greeting and ghost, which helps ground them and group those elements together.

  • For the greeting, I used a happy birthday die cut, and cut off the “birth”. I just wanted the “day” from that piece, because I really wanted to include the cute “Boo!” speech bubble for the ghost.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th Sorbet, Lemongrass, Lilac, Grape Soda, Mushroom.

  • ink: black

The fun die set for this ghost also has arms, and while trying to decide if I wanted to use those or not, I decided to do a card each way.

Techniques:

  • For this one, I used a trio of ghosts (with their arms). I did two in cardstock, and the top one is in white glitter cardstock.

  • The dark background is stamped and embossed with Hero Arts Iridescent Embossing Powder. That iridescent embossing and the sparkly glitter cardstock ghost add a lot of interest as you move the card. Keeping the background dark overall helps the ghosts really stand out.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th Carnation, Sorbet, and Creamsicle, as well as white and black.

  • ink: black and Versamark embossing ink.

So, which ghosts do you prefer? I’d love to see what you think in the comments.
