Creating from a Class

Do you do any virtual card classes? There are SO many good ones out there. Many companies offer them at least a couple of times a year, so there are plenty to pick and choose from. Some are multiple day events, others are just a single class, and there’s a range in between.

The Concord & 9th events are some of my favorites - mainly because I am a big fan of their products, and the people. They typically have 3 events per year - their big Summer Camp weekend event in June, and a couple of one day “In the Classroom” (ITC) events in the spring and fall. (Here’s their Events page if you want to keep an eye out for future events.)
This past weekend was their Spring ITC event.

One of the first fun parts of these classes is that (at least for the Concord & 9th events) they send you a box with the exclusive products for the class. It’s always fun to receive a package of crafty supplies, and even more fun when the contents are a surprise.

This event included two classes. We made a couple of cards in each class, and they always leave me with more ideas for many others. One of the best things about these events is that creative jumpstart. I didn’t get a chance (yet) to make many because this has been a very busy few days with work project, but more will happen. For now, I’ll share what I have.

This first group of cards focuses on the products and techniques from the first class, though none of these are finished exactly like the ones in class.

The second class featured a different set of stamps, and some interactive techniques. Here are a couple of cards from that one. Note that the the two cards are shown both closed, and with the arms open. Once the arms are opened, there is another flap that opens to reveal the inside where there is space to write a note.

Now that I completed those cards, I can add the products to my collection for many more cards in the future.

I also want to note that the first virtual creative events I did were the Crop & Create Delivered events with Scrapbook & Cards Today. Their cardmaking one has grown to over 3,000 people and four full days of classes, along with a big bod of product for them all. Amazing. Registration for that is currently closed, but they do have a waitlist you can join and they often have at least a few spots open up.

If you’re interested in any events, be sure to sign up for the newsletter from the company (the best way to get all the news), or watch their social posts closely on Facebook or Instagram.

Have you joined in for any virtual classes or events? Which are your favorites?

Thanks for visiting!
