Mixing in some holiday products from last year.
I always want to give my holiday products more attention, but the season gets busy and then they get put away and I don’t think about pulling them out until the next year. Before the recent Honey Bee Stamps holiday release came out I had started making some holiday cards with some great winter and Christmas stamps I’d bought LAST year (2023). I want to make more with these, so I’ll be sharing some of those here.
Techniques:
The background snowflakes are arranged in a random looking pattern across the Rainforest (dark green-blue) background. They have a wonderful metallic color shifting shine because I used Iridescent embossing powder on them, which is especially magical on dark. Leaving some residual embossing powder around some snowflakes added to the frosty feel - like you see on windows in those cold, snowy mornings.
The two silver snowflakes are cut from holographic cardstock. I didn’t glue the whole thing down, just the centers and a few of the other pieces. I wanted them to be secure, but also wanted that little shadow effect that makes them look like they’re floating.
On the bottom of the card, the two accent stripes in Lemongrass and Peacock offer a style contrast to the detail of the snowflakes. A silver embossed sentiment ties in with the shimmer of the snowflakes, and with the two large silver snowflakes it creates a focal point triangle.
