A Little More Beach

It is hard to believe that September begins tomorrow. That always feels like the end of summer to me, even though the technical season change is later in the month. But, it did make me want to get another beach-themed card or two that I’ve had in my mind actually done. Before I move all in on the fall and winter themes.

Techniques:

  • I wanted to layer the stamps along an edge. It also shows off the fun stamp edge the die creates.

  • The wavy edge for the front panel was created using one of the wavy edge dies to cut the right side. I used pieces from the wavy cover die for the white pattern, but cut it apart to use on the shape I created. I needed another piece of wave because I didn’t want the frame border, so I cut part of it again and pieced it in at the top.

  • The stenciling is fairly straightforward, but I did use Solar Paste for the wave detail on the beach and sea stamp.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th: Powder. Hammermill white

  • ink: Concord & 9th: Sorbet, Aqua Sky, Powder, Mushroom. Gina K Designs: Sandy Beach.

  • paste: Simon Hurley Solar Paste: Beluga.
