Different Ways to Use Book Stamps
These cards use the new Our Love Story stamps from Kristina Werner.
Take a look at her whole release at Concord & 9th here.
I love the linework in this main stamp. Her design evokes classic foil imprint book covers, but with some art deco flair.
Techniques:
What I love most about this stamp set is the great deco-inspired style of the book “cover”. I like to use new products in out-of-the box ways to challenge myself, so I wanted to show it off in a way other than the expected centered on the card panel.
All of the book stamping was done with Versamark and embossed with gold, which felt very on theme for the art deco style.
On a full A2 panel of Tidepool, I stamped it again, being sure the angle matched the front flap, but that the end of the stamp did NOT line up with the other edge for visual balance.
Lucky for me, I also ordered Kristina’s new Mixed Greetings stamp set, and found one that fit the space AND the style perfectly. For some visual interest since there isn’t a lot of contrast in line weight, I added dimension (and a little shading) to that, and balanced it with a detail in the open space in the Tidepool at the top of the card.
