Inspired By: Trying a “Swivel” Card
I watched Jennifer McGuire’s live video yesterday, with special guest (and friend) Greg Cottrell from Concord & 9th . They previewed the new Concord & 9th release, that is out today, January 9. Definitely go watch that live, because the card here is based on the technique she showed. (She comes up with brilliant ideas, that I am curious about and like to try.)
My take on this technique also uses supplies from Concord & 9th, but a mix of older ones. (I don’t have any of the new release yet, but I do have some on order… of course.) I won’t go through details too much here, because you can see that in Jennifer’s video. Just a few pictures and my supply list.
I will recommend you give thought to the placement of your die cut space on the front of the card as you determine the dimensions of your folding “block” for the focal point. My cake ended up being higher off the card base inside than I thought was ideal (and, I’d moved it after gluing it down so I wanted to cover that little spot anyway), so I added a secondary step down and added the flower and inside message to that. That still leaves plenty of room for me to write in the card below.
I have a feeling you already know where to look, but just to be safe you can find Jennifer’s blog post here, and her video. Definitely follow and subscribe to her if you are a cardmaker or papercrafter.
Thank you for visiting! I hope you get some time to create something soon.
