New Release from Honey Bee Stamps

The big holiday (and more) release from Honey Bee Stamps is now available. I had a chance to use a few of the products in advance, and have a few cards with those to share to give you a preview. Definitely check their website, YouTube, or Instagram for more, because there have been SO many amazing ideas shared.

Techniques:

  • This is a very simplified version of what you can do with these gingerbread houses. The set comes with lots of wonderful detail that you can layer and create a trio of fun and detailed houses.

  • I did some partial die cutting with a Honey Bee wave die to create a snowy landscape to tuck the base of the second house in. (That also kind of hides the fact that when I was with friends and borrowed these dies, I only cut one snowy piece for the base of the houses.

  • I added a few touches of sparkle and shine. (Always fitting for the winter holidays!) I used Astro Paste in Frostbite for the snow, and a few touches of gold with Gold Hero Wax on a front door, Gold embossing powder on the greeting, and a few dots of Nuvo drops to be decorations on a tree.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th Ballet Slipper, Pink Lemonade, Sprout, Harbor, Powder, Wheat, and Nutmeg.

Techniques:

  • The background was created by applying Frostbite Astro Paste through the Baking Spirits Bright stencil.

  • I did some subtle ink blending of Sea Glass ink around the edges of the embossed Sea Glass panel. It isn’t bold or very noticeable, but it does define the edges just a bit and provide a good foundation for the card.

  • Both the die cut and the embossing folder have detail, but with different line and pattern styles. By differentiating the colors (and not the values of them too much - both are softer, less saturated colors) it stands out just enough, without being too busy and creating a focal point. I want to save the focal point for the fun greeting.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th Cranberry, Grasshopper, Clover, Evergreen, Juniper, Peacock, and Blueberry. Hero Arts Pitch Black.

This one is based on a class I did recently, so not original, but I wanted to share since this bundle is part of this release. I made it into a shaped stand-up card instead of attaching it to a flat card front.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you get some time to create something soon.
