2 in 1 - Purple Hearts

This card set uses the new Simon Says Stamp Printmaking Hearts Die. This is really fun because I was able to make one card panel, use the die, and make two cards with it.

I began this card by choosing some colors, knowing that I wanted a card for someone who likes purple. This die set also has a coordinating stamp set that builds fun patterns in the hearts, but I don’t have that. I do love good cardstock layers and die cuts, so I created a background by trimming some scraps of Grapefruit and Dragonfruit cardstock, and layering those on the Grape Soda panel. I finished it off with some gold splatter and then centered the die and cut it out.

I trimmed that down slightly, and layered another Grape Soda layer behind it (that I used the same die cut on) to add dimension, and attached that to a folding A2 card panel in the same Grape Soda.

A small white “love” die cut finished it off.

One of the pictures above shows the hearts that I cut out of the first panel. I didn’t use them on that card, so now I could create a card with those.

For this card, I used the Basketweave cover die at an angle on an Eggplant card front. I die cut a greeting multiple times, layered that, and glued it to the front. I chose some of those hearts from the first card to use, and once I planned out the layout I glued a few down, but used foam behind three to give them some dimension. (Again, layers of texture and dimension from that basketweave to the layers of cardstock on the greeting and hearts add some wonderful interest that’s both visual and tactile.)

This card was a quick one to put together since I already had the hearts ready. Two-in-One projects are so satisfying!

Thank you for visiting! I hope you get some time to create something soon.
